  1. Purpose: Establish the corporate guidelines for the Integrated Management System.
  2. Scope: Applies to all companies of Grupo SID.
  3. Responsibilities: All staff.
  4. Content: We express through the following policies the commitment of our companies to quality, safety, the environment, safety and occupational health, as a basis for establishing objectives and goals that allow us to reach the highest performance standards in our Integrated Management System.

Corporate Quality and Innocuity Policy:

Deliver to our consumers and customers safe products and services that meet or exceed their expectations, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as other commitments assumed. We rely on the fulfillment of objectives and the continuous improvement of our Quality and Innocuity Management System.

Corporate Environmental Policy:

Protect the environment, prevent pollution and environmental impacts caused by the activities, products and services of our companies, with the continuous improvement of the Environmental Management System and with compliance with applicable legal requirements and other commitments that the organization subscribes.

Occupational Health and Safety Policy:

Achieve the best occupational health and safety standards in all our activities, in order to continuously safeguard in the most practical way possible, the well-being of those who work, visit and live near our operations centers, as well as prevent losses by accidents related to people, structures and materials.

Sustainability Policy:

  1. Adopt practices based on ethical, transparent, honest work and mutual trust with stakeholders, respecting fair business conduct and prohibiting all forms of corruption, bribery, and fraudulent use of funds and resources.

  2. Respect, promote, and protect the human rights of workers, contractors, suppliers, affected communities, and human rights defenders. The organization prohibits negative actions against affected stakeholders, including human rights defenders, whistleblowers, and/or community spokespersons who submit complaints to the organization, promoting equal opportunities.

  3. Respect the protection of children by prohibiting the hiring of child labor, forced labor, and human trafficking, since child labor affects the physical and emotional development of children and may lead to chronic illness, malnutrition, or exposure to long working hours, heavy loads, hazardous substances, or abuse by adults.

  4. Adopt remediation practices applicable to child labor, forced labor, and human trafficking when cases arise, as well as other human rights violations.

  5. Respect and promote equal opportunity, strongly combat harassment (including threats), sexual harassment, abuse, violence, and any form of discrimination based on race, caste, nationality, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, family responsibilities, age, hierarchy, among others; that violate good conduct or endanger the physical and moral integrity of employees, suppliers, clients, visitors, neighbors, or other stakeholders.

  6. Respect employees’ rights to join or form trade unions and to engage in collective bargaining. Allow workers to organize and create spaces for dialogue with management, where respect, tolerance, and the continuous pursuit of a positive work environment for achieving economic and social objectives must prevail. No violence is used, nor is any form of abuse instigated, including the use of mercenaries or paramilitaries in company operations.

  7. We are committed to protecting human rights defenders when they report incidents or complaints, ensuring no risk of retaliation or intimidation by any person, entity, or organization.

  8. Compensate employees competitively in relation to the industry, comply with all applicable local laws governing wages and benefits, and ensure that working hours comply with national laws and industry standards.

  9. Safeguard, as practically as possible, the well-being of those who work, visit, and live near our operations, as well as prevent losses from accidents involving people, structures, and materials.

  10. Comply with legal requirements and other commitments subscribed to by the organization.

  11. Prevent negative impacts generated by our environmental aspects, especially greenhouse gas emissions, wastewater, solid waste, hazardous substances, noise, consumption of natural resources, burning practices, and potential accidental spills.

  12. Promote the sustainable use of resources, proper water management, protection of biodiversity and protected areas, and contribute to the fight against climate change by promoting respect for the natural environment, preventing illegal land clearing and deforestation.

  13. Continuously improve the organization’s practices regarding environmental, social, operational management, occupational health and safety, and economic and financial viability.

  14. Respect legal and customary land rights, as well as the rights to free, prior, and informed consent (FPIC), and the cultural values of local communities and indigenous peoples.

  15. Prevent the conversion of High Carbon Stock (HCS) forests, High Conservation Value (HCV) areas, new developments on peatlands, including best practices for existing peatlands, and steep slopes greater than 12% on marginal or fragile soils. Conversion of forests or peatlands after the 2015 cut-off date will not be permitted.

  16. Promote the inclusion of smallholders and good agricultural practices within the supply chain.

  17. Respect reproductive rights, maternal health, and women’s safety. No minors, pregnant or breastfeeding women, or individuals with medical restrictions may perform tasks involving the handling, application, or direct exposure to hazardous chemicals.

  18. Hunting, fishing, and logging on company properties are strictly prohibited; as well as the use of fire for land preparation for new plantations, development and/or replanting, waste disposal, and pest or disease control, except in exceptional circumstances. The introduction of species listed in the Global Invasive Species Database, the CABI Digital Library, or national regulations is also prohibited. We are committed to achieving 100% deforestation-free palm volumes and derivatives for internal operations by 2030.

  19. Adopt non-discriminatory practices in all forms applicable to recruitment, hiring, job scope, compensation and benefits, access to training, promotions, facilities, and work equipment.

  20. The direct disposal of waste into water bodies or other ecosystems is strictly prohibited.
